Downtown cleanup workday

From the KDIC:

“At KDIC meeting last night it was decided that this Thursday, June 19 will be a designated work day for all downtown business owners to check the areas in front of their businesses, pull any weeds and pick up trash. In addition all willing volunteers are asked to show up at 5:30 p.m. this Thursday, June 19, at the corner of Franklin & McPherson, to work on sidewalk areas that are in front of vacant properties or other sidewalk areas that are in need of attention.

With the additional visitors coming to visit the Truman campus in the month June, several tourism related groups visiting, the Friday Kirksville Arts events and the big 4th of July celebration, it is very important that the downtown and the sidewalks look nice. Please take some time between now and Thursday to pull the weeds and pick up any trash in front of your business.”

Of course, this would also be a great opportunity for any interested citizens to show their support for our local business owners and downtown area by coming down to help out!
