Good things going on

This Thursday, March 6, why not drop by the Kirksville Arts Center to check out the entries in this year’s Seasons of Tourism photo contest? There will be a reception at 5pm, and the photos will be on display through the 25th. This is the second annual photography contest sponsored by our own Kirksville resident and State Representative Rebecca McClanahan. What a great way to promote the arts AND Kirksville tourism!

I also found out that registration is now open for the 8th annual The Big Event - a huge, organized volunteer event that is organized and run by Truman students every year. On April 5, hundreds of students will rake leaves, wash windows, paint, and provide a number of other services to the community as a way of saying “thanks” for what Kirksville does for them. You’ll probably recognize them by their matching t-shirts. More information here: The Big Event webpage

Also tonight is the annual Rotary Youth Banquet, honoring high-achieving students in Kirksville’s schools. The hard work of our young people deserves to be recognized and applauded. Congratulations!
